I am from the Pacific Northwest and grew up outside of Seattle, Washington. After completing my undergraduate degree at Santa Clara University in the San Francisco Bay Area, I stayed in California for my PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology at University of California, Berkeley and Postdoctoral Work at University of California, San Francisco. In the summer of 2017, I moved to Davidson College to gain experience teaching and mentoring at a primarily undergraduate institute where I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Biology Department. I teach introductory and upper-division courses in cell and molecular biology, introductory computer programming for biologists, and genomics. Outside of teaching and research, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two cats and dog, hiking, and playing cello.
